Five Falcons Named CCM/AHCA Women's Hockey All-Americans

GLOUCESTER, Mass. – NCAA Division III women's head coaches have recognized the top 24 hockey players in their division by selecting them as CCM Hockey/AHCA All-Americans for 2023-24, announced on Thursday, March 14, featuring UWRF's MaKenna Aure, Megan Goodreau, Alex Hantge, Maddie McCollins, and Jordan O'Connor.

Aure and McCollins were named to the West First Team, while Goodreau, Hantge, and O'Connor were selected to the West Second Team.

Maddie McCollins was also awarded the Laura Hurd Player of the Year while head coach Joe Cranston was selected as the Coach of the Year.

This year's five All-Americans is the most in UWRF history, marking the 13th consecutive season in which at least one Falcon earns All-America status. UWRF's five All-Americans is also the most of any school on this year's All-American Teams.

The quintet has led the Falcons to an undefeated 29-0 record while earning a spot in "Frozen Four" for the first time since 2016 at UWRF, and sixth time in program history. UWRF went 12-0 during conference action to win the WIAC regular season title, followed with the program's fifth consecutive WIAC O'Brien Cup Championship.

Now a two-time All-American, MaKenna Aure earns her first spot on the First Team, receiving Second Team laurels last season. The nation's second-leading scoring defender, Aure has compiled 34 points in 29 games with 12 goals and 22 assists. She was an All-WIAC First Team selection and leads the Falcons with a +47 plus/minus rating.

Maddie McCollins, the back-to-back WIAC Player of the Year, is now a two-time First Team All-American. The nation's leading scorer with 62 points off 32 goals and 30 assists, she was an All-WIAC First Team honoree and was the WIAC Player of the Week three times this season.

Megan Goodreau earns her first career All-American nod after totaling 47 points with 17 goals and 30 assists, ranking fourth in Division III scoring. An All-WIAC First Team member, Goodreau is UWRF's second-leading scorer and has totaled four power play goals and four game-winners.

Three-time All-WIAC First Team honoree Alex Hantge receives her first All-America recognition this year. She's totaled 43 points off 14 goals and 29 assists to rank fifth nationally in points. She leads the team with two shorthanded goals and ranks second with six power play goals.

Jordan O'Connor is one of two DIII goalies this season to still own a 1.000 winning percentage and is tied for the lead with 21 wins, owning a 21-0 record. Earning her first All-American award, O'Connor was an All-WIAC First Team honoree and leads the conference with a .944 save percentage, 1.06 goals against average, along with seven shutouts.

The Falcons host the NCAA Championship this weekend, March 15-17 at Hunt Arena. UWRF plays Adrian College on Friday at 7 p.m. during the NCAA Tournament Semifinals.
