SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams opened its 2024 outdoor schedule March 21-22 on the campus of San Diego State University, competing in the Aztec Invitational.
The Falcons sent a group of combined event student-athletes to compete in men's decathlon and women's heptathlon.
Jacob Balcome and
Charlie Theis represented the men in the decathlon while the trio ofÂ
Savannah Leopold,
Lexi LeFever, and
Elena Fuglestad participated in the heptathlon.
Theis finished ninth in the men's decathlon with 5,070 points.
LeFever led the women with a fifth place of 17 athletes in the women's heptathlon, finishing first among Division III student-athletes while totaling 4,632 points, the third most all-time at UWRF.
UWRF continues its outdoor campaign on April 13 at UW-La Crosse.
