MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The UW-River Falls men's soccer team dropped its latest match on the road at Augsburg, 6-2, on Sunday, Sept. 22.
Ben Harris led the way for the Falcons, finding the back of the net twice on the day, marking the freshman's first career goals.
In the first half, Augsburg held a 12-5 advantage in shots and built a 2-0 lead at halftime behind goals in the seventh and 21st minutes. The Auggies extended their lead to 4-0 in the 52nd minute after opening the second half with two quick goals.
Harris put UWRF on the board with two goals back-to-back within two minutes of game time. His first goal came in the 58th minute, assisted by Landon Christiansen. In the 60th minute, Harris scored again, once again assisted by Christiansen.
After cutting the deficit to 4-2, the Falcons seceded a goal in the 73rd minute that allowed Augsburg to jump ahead 5-2. The Auggies added another goal in the 85th minute, building an insurmountable 6-2 lead that would hold until the final whistle.
After his two-assist performance, Christiansen now has eight points on the season. Harris led the way for the Falcons with five shots on the night.
Up next, UWRF returns home to Ramer Soccer Stadium to host Bethel on Sept. 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
