RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls volleyball team wrapped up competition at its Falcon Invite on Saturday, defeating the College of Saint Benedict in five sets before a setback against St. Olaf College.
Up next, the Falcons (3-4, 0-0 WIAC) are set to travel to Dubuque, Iowa for four matches in the Loras Tournament Sept. 13-14, hosted by Loras College. The Falcons will face Loras, WashU, Wartburg, and Dubuque.Â

UW-River Falls 3, Saint Benedict 2
In the first match of the day against the Bennies, UWRF was led by freshman
Ava Goldsberry's 14 assists, a new career high. Freshman
Cora Sayotovich also recorded a career-high in assists, leading the team with 30.

The Falcons found themselves down 2-1 midway through the match, before a dominant fourth set (25-11) forced a fifth frame. UWRF opened the fourth set on a 12-2 run and closed out the frame on a 6-1 run, recording 15 kills in the 25-11 fourth set.
In the decisive fifth set, the Falcons opened the frame on a 3-0 run, before CSBÂ fought back to take an 8-7 advantage. UWRF closed out the set on an 8-3 run that saw
Reese Bauman make the match-sealing kill.
Overall, the Falcons hit .182 percent and totaled 58 kills, compared to .152 for Saint Benedict and 53 kills.
St. Olaf 3, UW-River Falls 0
The Oles hit .155 while limiting the Falcons to 27 kills with 29 errors to earn the sweep.
Down two sets, the Falcons pushed back in the third set, causing nine Ole errors. After the Falcons led 10-7, St. Olaf put together a 9-0 run to lead 16-10 and UWRF wouldn't recover.
The home team had three-straight points late to trim the Ole lead to 23-20, but St. Olaf answered with two points to close out the set and match, 25-20.
Emily Brenner and
Lauren Noth shared the team lead with eight kills each, while
Olivia Gustafsson had 10 kills and Noth had 13 digs.
