SUPERIOR, Wis. — The UW-River Falls men's hockey team fell 2-1 Saturday night at UW-Superior.
The Falcons, now 10-8-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the WIAC, were out-shot 30-18 by the Yellowjackets in the one-goal loss.
All three goals were scored even strength in the second period. UWS opened the scoring four minutes into the middle frame, which was answered at 12:43 by
Ethan Lindahl, his third of the season, assisted by
Jonny Meiers.
Minutes later, the Yellowjackets scored the eventual game-winning goal and shutout the Falcons the remainder of regulation.
Both teams went scoreless on the power play, with UWRF going 0-for-4 and UWS going 0-for-3.
Brennan Boynton made the start in net and tallied 28 saves.
Next weekend, the Falcons head to nationally ranked UW-Stevens Point.
