RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls men's and women's track program continued its indoor season at three different meets this weekend; the Falcons competed at the Jack Johnson Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota, the St. Olaf Invitational & Multi, and the Pat Healy Classic hosted by UW-La Crosse.
Jack Johnson Classic (University of Minnesota)
- Jacob Balcome led the way in the men's heptathlon, placing second with 4,923 points, a mark that ranks second best in UWRF's indoor record book. Balcome led after the four events on day one, and placed first in the 1,000 meters (2:53.07), long jump (6.92m), and high jump (1.94m). He placed second in shot put (11.88m) and third in the 60 meters (7.24) 60-meter hurdles (8.79), and pole vault (3.40m).
- In the women's heptathlon, Brielle Kuechle placed third overall with 3,165 points, which ranks sixth all-time in the program's indoor record book. Kuechle placed second in the high jump (1.58m) and third in both the 60-meter hurdles (9.28) and long jump (5.23m).
- In high jump, Yaih Marial won the men's competition with a season-best jump of 2.04 meters (6-08.25). Zane Habisch placed third with a score of 1.95 meters (6-04.75).
- Haylie Rasmussen placed fourth in the women's pentathlon with 2,962 points, with her top finish coming in the 800 meters (3rd/2:40.69). Lauren Machacek placed second in the pentathlon shot put with a throw of 10.22 meters.
- In pole vault, the Falcons took third-place finishes in both men's and women's events. Annika Gunderson leaped 3.59 meters (11-09.25) to place third on the women's side, while Cole Darling's jump of 4.11 meters (12-11.75) also placed third on th men's side.
St. Olaf Invitational & Multi
- At St. Olaf, Wyatt Johnson led the way in the men's 5,000 meters, placing 12th with a time of 15:45.49. Johnson's time ranks 10th all-time in the UWRF record book.
- In the women's 5,000 meters, Laina Viere and Peyton Opsahl finished back-to-back. Viere placed 22nd at 19:20.4 and Opsahl placed 23rd with a time of 19:25.27.
- Ryan Pierson was UWRF's next finisher in the men's 5,000 meters, placing 17th with a time of 15:55.0.
Pat Healy Classic (UW-La Crosse)
- In the women's weight throw, Lauryn Schutz placed second with a throw of 15.20 meters (49-10.5). The mark ranks fifth all-time for UW-River Falls. Charles Baker placed second in the men's weight throw, with a distance of 15.84 meters (49-10.5)— the mark ranks seventh all-time at UWRF.
- Logan Munson placed second in the men's 800 meters, clocking in at 1:56.70. Tyler Parker placed fifth at 1:58.87.
- In the men's shot put, Brady Sindelir placed third with a throw of 14.60 meters (47-10.75). On the women's side, Alexis Koch placed fourth with a throw of 12.62 meters (41-5) — the throw ranks eighth all-time at UWRF. Georgia Mundt placed fifth at 12.30 meters (40-4.5).
- Trever Jensen was .03 off a personal record in the men's 60-meter first round, clocking in at 7.17. He also placed eighth in the men's 200-meter final with a time of 23.34.
- In the women's mile, Adison Wilde placed 12th at 5:22.37 and Jaidyn McAlpine was just behind in 13th at 5:22.98.

- Next on the schedule for UW-River Falls, the Falcons are set to travel to Menomonie, Wis. to compete at the Warren Bowlus Open hosted by UW-Stout. The meet is set to take place on Feb. 1.
