MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – D3football.com released its Team of the Week for games of Nov. 15, 2025, with
Trent Cherry representing UW-River Falls.
Receiving his first career D3football.com Team of the Week accolade, Cherry is the sixth Falcon this season to earn the national honor, following
Gage Timm,
Andre Hall,
Kaleb Blaha (x2), and
Taylor Sussner.
A junior defensive back from Wimauma, Fla., Cherry had interceptions in back-to-back UW-Stout drives in the first quarter on Saturday, Nov. 15, leading to an early Falcon lead as they eventually won 29-19 to clinch the WIAC title outright. He also finished with three tackles, all solo, and broke up two passes.
No. 3-ranked UWRF (9-1, 6-1 WIAC) received a first-round bye in the NCAA Playoffs and will host a second round matchup on Saturday, Nov. 29 at Ramer Field versus the winner of Whitworth University and Chapman University.
The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, in its 27th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are nominated by schools.
