Laina Viere will represent UW-River Falls at the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 22 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Viere earned one of 70 national individual qualifying spots after placing 17th of 207 runners at the NCAA North Regional in Colfax, Wis., finishing in 22:31.6 to secure All-Region honors for the second time in her career. She was among the top seven individuals in the region not on a qualifying team.
She becomes the first Falcon to reach the NCAA Championship since Linsey Tolkkinen in 2018, joining past UWRF qualifiers Abby Fouts (2017), Tia Harris (2013), and three-time All-American Becca Jordahl (2006-08).
