STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The UW-River Falls men's hockey team fell 4-1 at UW-Stevens Point on Friday evening during the 2025-26 WIAC opener.
The Pointers struck first at 11:58 of the opening period when Cody Pisarczyk scored at even strength, giving UWSP a 1-0 lead after twenty minutes.
The Falcons answered early in the second period on the power play as Keenan Ingram buried his team-leading eighth goal of the season at 6:41, set up by Alex Atwill and Gavin Middendorf to tie the game 1-1. Stevens Point regained the lead late in the frame when Gabe Randel scored the eventual game-winner at 17:26.
In the third period, UWSP added insurance with a power-play goal from Hunter O'Brien at 16:36 and an empty-net tally by Joseph Manning at 18:35 to seal the victory.
Brennan Boynton finished with 32 saves for the Falcons, while Alex Proctor stopped 17 shots for the Pointers. UWSP outshot UWRF 36-19 and converted on its lone power-play chance, while UWRF went 1-for-3 with the man advantage.
Tomorrow night, the Falcons (4-3, 0-1 WIAC) continue WIAC action at Hunt Arena, hosting the first ever matchup versus Beloit College. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
