Falcons Host UW-Oshkosh in WIAC Tournament Opener Wednesday

The UW-River Falls women's soccer team is set to open the 2025 WIAC Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 5, hosting UW-Oshkosh at Ramer Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Falcons enter postseason play with a 12-5-2 overall record and a 3-3-1 mark in WIAC play, earning the No. 3 seed and will host the first-round matchup. UWRF will look to avenge a 2-0 loss to the Titans in Oshkosh on Nov. 1 that closed out the regular season.

THE SERIES
  • The Falcons and Titans will meet for the 37th time on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons trail in the all-time series, 14-19-3 but have historically held their own at home with a 7-8-1 record in River Falls. The Falcons look to snap the recent skid and continue their postseason push on home turf. 
WIAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
  • UW-River Falls makes its 17th appearance in the WIAC Tournament, holding a 15-23-2 all-time record in the postseason. The Falcons reached the semifinals last season after defeating UW-Stevens Point in the opening round. 
  • This year marks the first WIAC Tournament game hosted at Ramer Soccer Stadium since 2014, when UWRF earned a 1-0 overtime win over UW-La Crosse.

  • UWRF finished the regular season with its most wins since 2014, including an 8-2 record at home.
  • The Falcons have outscored opponents 36–21 this season while averaging 18.5 shots per game and tallying eight shutouts defensively.
  • Junior forward Emery Bigler leads the Falcons with 20 points on eight goals and four assists, while Ellie Ketcher follows with 15 points (six goals, three assists) and a team-high four game-winning goals.
  • Lauren Best has been the team's top playmaker, contributing seven assists and ranking among WIAC leaders in chances created.
  • First-year goalkeeper Courtney Bain owns a 7-5-1 record, 1.41 goals-against average, and .768 save percentage, while Kiera Nelson has added three clean sheets with a 0.38 GAA in seven appearances.
