The UW-River Falls women's soccer team is headed to the WIAC Tournament Semifinals for the second consecutive season, traveling to face UW-Platteville. Kickoff is set for Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
The Falcons (13-5-2, 3-3-1 WIAC) advanced after a commanding 3-1 victory over UW-Oshkosh in Wednesday's first round at Ramer Soccer Stadium, marking their first home postseason win since 2014. UWRF now sets its sights on a rematch with the Pioneers, who edged the Falcons 1-0 earlier this season in River Falls.

The Series
Friday's WIAC Semifinal marks the 15th meeting between UW-River Falls and UW-Platteville since the series began in 2011. The series is currently tied at 5-5-4 with six of the last eight meetings decided by one goal or fewer.
Falcon Notes
- The Falcons enter the semifinal having outscored opponents 39-22 this fall while posting eight shutouts.
- Junior forward Emery Bigler leads the offense with 20 points (8 goals, 4 assists), followed closely by Ellie Ketcher (7 goals, 3 assists) and Lauren Best (team-high 9 assists).
- Freshman goalkeeper Courtney Bain has been a consistent presence between the posts, recording over 1300 minutes with a 1.38 goals-against-average, .778 save percentage, and three shutouts on the season.
- The Falcons are 4-3-2 on the road and look to secure their first WIAC title-game berth since 2003.
The winner between UW-River Falls and UW-Platteville will advance to the WIAC Championship on Sunday, Nov. 9, to face either UW-La Crosse or UW-Stevens Point.
