No. 1 Falcons Shut Out No. 2 Auggies, 4-0

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team earned a 4-0 win at No. 2/3-ranked Augsburg University Friday evening in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament Semifinals.

Senior forward Megan Goodreau led the charge with her second consecutive two-goal game, including the game-winner in the first period, while Gracyn Knowles and Madison Lavergne added scores to power the Falcons to 2-0 on the season.

Goodreau opened the scoring at 8:13 of the first period, burying a feed from Sophia Hess and Kylie Jones to give UWRF an early edge. Less than six minutes later, Knowles doubled the lead off a setup from Madison Kadrlik for her first collegiate goal, sending the Falcons to the first intermission up 2-0.

UWRF extended its advantage midway through the second on the power play, as Goodreau struck again - her fourth goal of the young season, converting assists from MaKenna Aure and Brooklyn Riley.

Lavergne capped the scoring with an empty-netter in the final minute, assisted by Addie Seleski - her first point as a Falcon, sealing the win.

Senior goaltender Jordan O'Kane was flawless between the pipes, stopping all 24 shots she faced to record her first shutout of the season and seventh of her career.

The Falcons outshot the Auggies 31-24 and finished 1-for-2 on the power play while killing off both Augsburg advantages.

Tomorrow, UWRF hosts the College of St. Scholastica at Hunt Arena for the 2025-26 home opener, featuring the 2025 national championship banner unveiling before the 7:05 p.m. puck drop.
