RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls rallied from an early deficit to earn a 4-3 victory over the College St. Scholastica on Saturday night at Hunt Arena during the 2025-26 home opener.
Improving to 3-0 on the season, the Falcons overcame a 2-0 first-period deficit with three goals in the second and sealed the win with one more in the third.
St. Scholastica struck first with two goals from Grace Chapman in the opening frame, but the Falcons responded in the second period.
Madison Kadrlik put UWRF on the board at 4:23, assisted by Megan Goodreau and Brooklyn Riley. Goodreau then tied the game at 14:43 off feeds from Sophia Hess and MaKenna Aure, and Hess gave the Falcons their first lead at 18:05 with help from Goodreau.
Chapman completed her hat trick early in the third to even the score at 3-3, but Kailey Niccum netted the game-winner at 4:16, scoring off the rush with help from Gracyn Knowles and Kaitlyn Ronn.
Goodreau led the Falcons with a goal and two assists, while Hess added a goal and an assist.
Jordan O'Kane earned the win in goal to improve to 3-0. UWRF dominated the faceoff circle, winning 32 of 48 draws, and outshot the Saints 42-7.
The Falcons head into WIAC play next Friday, Nov. 14 at UW-Stevens Point.
