ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team battled through four quarters Saturday afternoon but came up just short in a six-point road loss to Bethel in non-conference matchup.
The Falcons kept the game within reach throughout, trading leads with the Royals throughout the entire game, applying pressure on both ends of the floor. UW-River Falls remained collected offensively, generating consistent looks and limiting scoring runs by Bethel, but the hosts were able to create just enough separation late to hold on for the win.
Zoey Buchan paced the Falcons offensively, turning in her best scoring performance of the season with 24 points, going 4-of-5 from beyond the arc while adding a team-high seven assists.
Emily Anderson and
Savannah Leopold contributed 15 and 10 points, respectively, with 18 total points coming off the bench.
The Falcon defense forced 16 Royal turnovers, converting them into 17 points, compared to the Falcons 12 turnovers. On the glass,
Olivia Boily continued her interior presence bringing down six rebounds with
Jocelyn Plonski matching Boily's six.
The Falcons return to action December 20
th, taking on Augsburg in Don Page Arena before heading into their holiday break.
