Falcon Baseball opens 2025 at RussMatt Invitational in Florida

The UW-River Falls baseball team is set to begin its 2025 season this week with its spring break trip to Florida, scheduled for six varsity games from March 13-19 in the RussMatt Invitational.

1 p.m. – vs. Nebraska Wesleyan

Friday, March 14
12:30 p.m. – vs. Minnesota Morris

Saturday, March 15
3:30 p.m. – vs. Rutgers-Newark

Monday, March 17
9:30 a.m. – vs. Clarkson

Tuesday, March 18
10 a.m. – vs. Trinity

Wednesday, March 19
9:15 a.m. – vs. Springfield



The Falcons are led by head coach Steve Bartlein, who became the 11th head coach in UWRF baseball history in August of 2024. UWRF is making its return after a 23-year absence. The program was reinstated after being suspended in 2002 and will round out the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) as the eighth conference member to sponsor baseball.

UWRF will play its home games at First National Bank of River Falls Field, and the 2025 home and WIAC opener is set for Saturday, March 29 with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against UW-Stevens Point.
