MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its 2024-25 Men's Hockey postseason awards on March 11 with five Falcons represented, including First Team honors for Brennan Boynton, Jonny Meiers, and Cole Teleki.

In addition, Dylan Smith was recognized as an Honorable Mention for the third year in a row, and Burke Simpson was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Junior goaltender Brennan Boynton started in each of UWRF's 30 games this season (just two games shy of a UWRF record), leading the WIAC with 17 wins and 25.5 saves per game. His .916 save percentage ranked second in the league and his 2.43 goals against average ranked third. A two-time WIAC Player of the Week, he collected a pair of shutouts, including a season-high 36 saves in the Feb. 22 shutout against UW-Stout in the first round of the WIAC Tournament.

Sophomore forward Jonny Meiers, now a two-time All-WIAC recipient after earning Honorable Mention laurels last season, played in all but two games this year and totaled 30 points with 15 goals and 15 assists, ranking fifth in WIAC scoring and tied for second in goal scoring. He also led the Falcons with four power play goals (2nd/WIAC) and had nine multi-point efforts, highlighted by a four-goal game against Northland College on Feb. 13.

Freshman defender Cole Teleki was the top scoring defender in WIAC with 18 points off six goals and 12 assists. He played in all 30 games and led the league with 67 blocked shots. He scored two game-winning goals, including an overtime game-winner on Dec. 14. 

Junior forward Dylan Smith, now a three-time All-WIAC Honorable Mention, was UWRF's leading scorer with 32 points in 30 games with 15 goals and 17 assists. During conference play only, he led the WIAC with 55 shots on goal and tied for the lead along with teammate Jonny Meiers with nine goals, featuring a hat-trick against nationally ranked UW-Stevens Point on Nov. 22.

Burke Simpson, a junior forward, skated in all 30 games for the Falcons and ranked sixth in team scoring with 15 points off seven goals and eight assists.

The 2024-25 Falcons had an overall record of 17-12-1 and 8-6-1 league record, including an 11-4 record at Hunt Arena. UWRF reached the WIAC Tournament Championship for the first time since 2016 and scored 92 goals - the program's most since the 2009-10 season.
