THE SERIES
- Saturday's game marks the 18th all-time meeting between UW-River Falls and Ausburg, with the Falcons leading the series 13-3-1. The game will also be the first in which UWRF and Augsburg have met in the NCAA postseason, with the Auggies making their first national tournament appearance.
- The Falcons and Auggies met earlier this season in early November, resulting in a 4-4 draw at Hunt Arena.
NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- Coming off the program's first National Championship last season, the Falcons are making their 16th NCAA Tournament appearance, earning an at-large bid after winning both the 2024-25 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season and tournament titles.
- The Falcons have reached the 'Frozen Four' seven times in program history (2003, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2024, 2025) and own a 14-15 overall record, dating back to the program's first national tournament appearance in 2003.
- During national semifinal games, the Falcons own a 2-4 record, but have won two consecutive in 2016 and 2024.
FALCON NOTES
- The Falcons came into the NCAA Tournament ranked fourth in the NCAA Power Index, receiving the No. 4 seed in the bracket.
- UWRF is coming off a 4-1 win over Elmira College in the NCAA Quarterfinals last Saturday at Hunt Arena in a rematch of last year's national championship. The Falcons scored twice on the power play while Bailey Olson and Megan Goodreau both had two-point efforts.
- UWRF is the top scoring team in NCAA Division III, averaging 6.1 goals per game for a total of 178 goals. The 34.4% power play also leads the nation, with the Falcons having scored at least one power play goal in nine consecutive games, including five on March 28 against UW-Superior - a program record.
- Individually, senior forward Bailey Olson is the DIII leading scorer with 56 points off 26 goals and 30 assists.
- Behind Olson's national scoring lead, Megan Goodreau ranks second with 48 points (23g-25a), and the freshmen duo of Alexa Niccum (7g-26a-33p) and Kylie Jones - the WIAC Newcomer of the Year (8g-24a-32p) are the top two scoring rookies in the nation.
- During UWRF's current nine-game winning streak, junior goaltender Jordan O'Kane has made nine consecutive starts in net, accumulating a .943 save percentage and a 1.07 goals against average, including a pair of shutouts.
