DECORAH, Iowa — The UW-River Falls women's soccer team claimed another shutout win against Luther College on September 27, 2025, at Luther College Soccer Field, improving their record to 8-2-0 with a strong road performance.
The Falcons struck early, with Ellie Ketcher opening the scoring in the 14th minute, assisted by Emery Bigler, marking her sixth goal of the season. Lexi Atkinson added a second in the 44th minute, securing a 2-0 lead by halftime. Goalkeeper Courtney Bain earned another shutout win for the Falcons, making two saves to stifle Luther's nine shot effort, which included just two on target.
UWRF outshot the Norse 13-9, with eight shots on goal, led by Bigler (three shots, two on goal), Lauren Best (three on goal) and Gretchen Hanson (three shots, one on goal). The Falcons earned 11 corner kicks compared to the Norse's six.
Next, the Falcons will begin WIAC play and host UW-Lacrosse Oct. 1 at 4 p.m.
