UWRFÂ TO HOST EMPLOYEE & FAMILY APPRECIATION DAY SATURDAY, JAN. 17
UW-River Falls Athletics, in partnership with the Chancellor's Office, will host Employee and Family Appreciation Day on Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Falcon Center, welcoming UWRF employees and their immediate family members for a full day of Falcon athletic action.
Admission is free for employees and their immediate family members with a valid UWRF employee ID. Complimentary refreshments will be available from 2-3 p.m. in the Royal Credit Union (RCU) Conference Room, located on the second floor above Page Arena. Cookies, hot cocoa, and coffee will be served during the first intermission of the women's hockey game or prior to the start of the women's basketball contest, while supplies last.
FALCON NOTES
- The Falcons won their ninth game in a row last Saturday, Jan. 10 with a 5-1 win over rival and No. 8-ranked Gustavus Adolphus, led by five different goal scorers, including two power play goals and Sami Pool's first of the season in her first game back from injury.Â
- UWRF remains ranked No. 1Â in this week's USCHO and DIII Hockey News national rankings.
- The Falcons opened the new year sweeping Concordia College Jan. 2-3. During the wins, senior MaKenna Aure totaled seven points and was named the WIAC Player of the Week for the second week in a row. She also surpassed 100 career points, becoming the first defender in UWRF history to reach the century mark. She's the program's all-time leading scorer among defenseman.
- UWRF has scored at least one power play goal in all but three games this season, including a combined total of nine in 2026 to lead Division III with a total of 19 this season with a .432 percentage.
- Megan Goodreau leads the Falcons and the nation with nine power play goals. She's also the top scorer in DIII with 34 points off 14 goals and 16 assists.
- Senior goaltender Jordan O'Kane is tied for the WIAC-lead with a .944 save percentage, and ranks third nationally with a .923 winning percentage with her 12-1 record.
