RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls football trio of Kaleb Blaha, Gage Timm, and Taylor Sussner were recognized with 'In the D3FB Huddle' 2025 postseason awards.

Kaleb Blaha was named the Overall Player the Year, Gage Timm the Defensive Player of the Year, and Taylor Sussner the Newcomer of the Year.

The trio led the Falcons to a historic 14-1 overall record, capped off by a 24-14 win over North Central College in the Stagg Bowl to capture the program's first national championship in the first national playoff appearance since 1996. 

Kaleb Blaha, also the Gagliardi Trophy winner and the D3football.com and Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year, led NCAA Division III with 6,189 yards of total offense, breaking an all-Division's college football record, passing Joe Burrow's record set at LSU in 2019. A Manning Award finalist and a First Team All-American selection by several outlets, he broke a multitude of UWRF throughout the 2025 season and his career, and finished his time as a Falcon with a 14,739 yards of total offense, a WIAC record and the second-most all-time in NCAA Division III.

Gage Timm, also the D3football.com Region 6 Defensive Player of the Year and the WIAC Defensive Player of the Year, led the Falcons with 127 total tackles, adding 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, four pass breakups and three quarterback hurries while anchoring the UWRF defense. An All-American and a Cliff Harris award finalist, he totaled 13 tackles, a pair of sacks and a fumble recovery in the Stagg Bowl. 

The WIAC Newcomer of the Year and an All-WIAC Honorable Mention, Taylor Sussner had an interception and a sack in the Stagg Bowl. He was a factor in UWRF leading the nation with 40 turnovers gained, leading the team with seven interceptions and leading Division III with five fumble recoveries. He finished second on the team behind Timm with 86 total tackles and 15 tackles for loss.
