RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team opened the 2026-27 season with a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory over St. Scholastica Saturday night at Hunt Arena. The Falcons overcame a second-period deficit and responded to a late game-tying goal before Keenan Ingram delivered the winner in overtime.
St. Scholastica struck first midway through the opening period, but the Falcons answered at the 12:24 mark when Logan Nagle finished a play started by Anthony Cappello and Garett Drotts to even the score at 1-1 heading into the first intermission. The goal was Nagle's first as a Falcon.
The Saints regained the lead on a power-play goal just over a minute into the second period and carried a 2-1 advantage into the final frame.
UW-River Falls erupted out of the locker room in the third period.
