WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Falcons wrapped up their 2025-26 season Saturday evening, falling 69-62 to the UW-Whitewater Warhawks at the Williams Center.
UW-River Falls (8-17, 3-11 WIAC) battled throughout the match, holding an early first-half advantage before Whitewater used a late push to take a five point lead into the break. The Falcons stayed within striking distance in the second half, cutting the deficit to five in the final minute, but were unable to complete the comeback effort.
Jack Leifker led the Falcons with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting while adding four rebounds and three blocks. Owen Havlik continued his strong play with 14 points, knocking down two three-pointers, and Micah Thompson added 12 points and six rebounds. Gavin Ralph chipped in 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including a pair from beyond the arc.
The Falcons shot 47.1 percent from the field and scored 34 points in the paint, but Whitewater capitalized at the free throw line, converting 15-of-29 attempts compared to River Falls' 9-of-13 mark. The Warhawks were led by Collin Madson's 20 points and Luke Bara's 17.
With the regular season now complete, the Falcons close the year highlighted by several top-ranked opponents and continued growth from a core group that will look to build heading into the offseason.
