OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's basketball team fell 69-47 to third-ranked UW-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon at Kolf Sports Center.
The Titans, ranked No. 3 nationally and owners of a 20-1 overall record, used a strong first half to build separation and remained in control throughout the contest. UWO led 35-19 at the break and extended its advantage in the third quarter.
UWRF (12-9, 5-5 WIAC) had a balanced scoring effort, with Zoey Buchan, Savannah Leopold, Jocelyn Plonski, Olivia Boily, and Braelyn Beiler each scoring eight points. Beiler was perfect from the field, knocking down all three of her shots, including a pair of three-pointers.
The Falcons showed their best offensive stretch in the third quarter, shooting over 50 percent from the field in the period, but the Titans answered with consistent scoring inside and from the perimeter.
UW-Oshkosh finished the game shooting 46.8 percent from the field and held a 36-28 rebounding advantage. Sammi Beyer led all scorers with 14 points for the Titans.
UWRF returns to action next Wednesday, Feb. 11 at UW-Stevens Point.
