No. 1 Falcons Welcome Saint Mary’s & UWSP in Three-Game Home Slate

The No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team is set for a three-game stretch at Hunt Arena this week, beginning with a nonconference matchup against Saint Mary's on Tuesday night before a weekend series against UW-Stevens Point on Friday and Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, the Falcons will honor the 2026 senior class of MaKenna Aure, Katherine Bell, Megan Goodreau, Madison Lavergne, Kailey Niccum, Jordan O'Kane, and Kaitlyn Ronn.

THE SERIES

  • Tuesday's game marks the 15th all-time meeting between UW-River Falls and Saint Mary's, with the Falcons leading the series 10-2-2.
    • UWRF has won six in a row over the Cardinals, including a 3-2 win in overtime last season in Winona, Minn. MaKenna Aure scored the game-winner in overtime, her second goal of the game.
  • This weekend's games will mark the 96-97th meetings between UWRF and UW-Stevens Point, with the Falcons holding a 58-28-9 series advantage.
    • Earlier this season, the Falcons defeated the Pointers 5-0 on Nov. 14, 2025 in Stevens Point, paced with five different goal scorers and a 22-save shutout from Jordan O'Kane.

FALCON NOTES

  • UWRF remains ranked No. 1 in this week's USCHO and DIII Hockey News national rankings, receiving unanimous first place votes for the fourth consecutive week.
  • The Falcons are coming off a 5-3 win over No. 9-ranked UW-Eau Claire last Saturday at Hunt Arena, erasing a three-goal deficit with five unanswered goals.
  • UWRF continued its tear on the power play last time out against the Blugolds, scoring twice on the man advantage. The NCAA Division III leaders with a .466 percentage and a total of 34 power play goals, they've scored on the power play in 16 consecutive games.
  • The Falcons also own the top-scoring offense in the nation with 5.1 goals per game, led by Megan Goodreau's NCAA-leading 23 goals.
    • Goodreau also is the DIII leading scorer with 53 points and 13 power play goals - which recently broke a WIAC single-season record for most power play goals. 
  • Behind Goodreau, Sophia Hess is tied for fourth on the national scoring leaderboard with 37 points and MaKenna Aure is the national leader among defenders with 1.5 points per game.
  • Senior Jordan O'Kane has started in 17 of 21 games this season in net and leads the WIAC with a .945 save percentage and a 1.06 goals against average.
