Goodreau, Hess, and Cranston Highlight All-WIAC Women's Hockey Team; Nine Falcons Receive Awards

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its 2025-26 Women's Hockey postseason awards on Tuesday, March 10, with nine Falcons represented, including Player of the Year honors for Megan Goodreau, Newcomer of the Year for Sophia Hess, and Coach of the Year for Joe Cranston.

For the sixth year in a row, the WIAC Player of the Year was awarded to a Falcon, with this year's recipient being senior forward Megan Goodreau. She follows the footsteps of Bailey Olson (2025), Maddie McCollins (2023 & 2024) and Callie Hoff (2021 & 2022). Also named to the All-WIAC First Team, Goodreau led the WIAC in scoring while breaking league records with 74 points, 36 goals, and 17 power play goals.

Sophia Hess becomes UWRF's fifth all-time Newcomer of the Year award winner, and the second in row for UWRF, following Kylie Jones from last season. Hess is the second-leading scorer in the league behind Goodreau with 56 points off 26 goals and 30 assists, and is the top scoring rookie in NCAA Division III.

Now an 11-time Coach of the Year and six-time WIAC Coach of the Year (NCHA 5x), Joe Cranston led the Falcons to a seventh consecutive WIAC O'Brien Cup Tournament title while winning the WIAC regular season crown for the 12th time in program history this season.
