NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- UWRF defeated Amherst College 3-1 on Friday, March 27, advancing to their third-straight national championship.
- The reigning back-to-back national champion Falcons are in their 17th NCAA Tournament appearance, earning an at-large bid after winning both the 2025-26 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season and tournament titles. UWRF defeated UW-Eau Claire 4-0 to earn a seventh consecutive WIAC O'Brien Cup Tournament title.
- The Falcons have reached the 'Frozen Four' eight times in program history (2003, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2024, 2025, 2026) and own an 18-15 overall record in the NCAA Tournament, dating back to the program's first national tournament appearance in 2003.
UWRF HEADLINES AHCA ALL-AMERICA TEAM
- Joe Cranston was named CCM/AHCA Division III Women's Coach of the Year for the second time in his career, guiding UWRF to its eighth Frozen Four and a 24-game win streak entering the semifinals.
- Megan Goodreau earned Laura Hurd Player of the Year, becoming the program's third straight recipient, while leading the nation with 76 points and setting UWRF/WIAC single-season records in points and goals.
- UWRF placed a nation-best four players on the CCM/AHCA All-America First Team (West): Jordan O'Kane, MaKenna Aure, Megan Goodreau, and Sophia Hess — the most in program history.
- MaKenna Aure became UWRF's first four-time All-American and is the nation's top-scoring defenseman (40 points), eclipsing 100 career points earlier this season as the program's all-time leading scorer among defenders.
RECORD-YEAR FOR GOODREAU
- Senior forward and co-captain Megan Goodreau has put together one of the most historic seasons in Falcon women's hockey history, rewriting both the UWRF and WIAC record books.
- Goodreau became UWRF's all-time leading scorer during the regular season finale against UW-Eau Claire (a 6-3 UWRF win to clinch the WIAC regular season title), passing former Laura Hurd Award winner Callie Hoff while becoming just the third student-athlete in NCAA Division III women's hockey history to reach the 200-career-point milestone.
- Her 76 points and 37 goals not only lead NCAA Division III this season, but also broke UWRF and WIAC single-season records.
- On Friday against Amherst, Goodreau recorded her 18th power play goal of the season, netting what proved to be the game-winning goal.
- Goodreau's 18th power play goal set a new NCAA Division III single-season record and surpassing Cassidy Delainey's mark of 17, set at Elmira in 2015. It also marked the 35th power play goal of her career, establishing another NCAA Division III record and eclipsing Tori Charron's previous total of 34, recorded from 2011–14 at Elmira/Norwich.
FALCONS' HIGH-FLYING ATTACK
- The Falcons entered the NCAA Tournament ranked first in the NCAA Power Index, earning the top seed in the bracket, and have held the No. 1 spot all season in the USCHO and DIII Hockey News national polls. UWRF leads NCAA Division III in scoring at 5.1 goals per game and boasts the nation's top power play at 46.1% (47 goals), while also allowing just 1.0 goal per game defensively (3rd/NCAA).
- Senior forward Megan Goodreau leads NCAA Division III with 76 points (37g, 39a), while freshman Sophia Hess ranks second nationally with 58 points (26g, 32a). MaKenna Aure leads all Division III defensemen in scoring with 40 points (14g, 26a) and surpassed 100 career points earlier this season as the program's all-time leading scoring defender.
O'KANE ANCHORS THE CREASE
- Senior goaltender Jordan O'Kane has allowed one goal or less in five consecutive games, coming off a 30-save effort against Amherst in the NCAA Semfinals, improving her record to 25-1 on the season, continuing to lead the nation in win percentage (.972).
- In the NCAA Quarterfinals against Williams College, O'Kane made a career-high 37 saves in a 1-0 shutout win, marking her eighth shutout of the season and tying the UWRF single-season record. She also set program and WIAC records with her 24th win.
- Now a two-time All-American, O'Kane ranks among the top five in Division III with her 1.00 goals against average and .949 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN FLYERS
- Nazareth stormed back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Norwich 5-4 in overtime on Friday, advancing to the program's first ever national championship while tying the program record for wins at 27.
- The Golden Flyers are led by head coach Chris Baudo, an AHCA Coach of the Year finalist.
- In just the eighth year of the program's history, Nazareth is in its fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, receiving an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament after suffering its lone loss of the season to Elmira College in the UCHC Championship game.
- Amy Laskowski, an All-American, leads the team with 51 points off 26 goals and 25 assists.
