RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls baseball team swept a doubleheader against UW-Oshkosh on Sunday afternoon, winning by scores of 8-2 and 8-4.
UWRF improves to 17-12 overall and 10-8 in conference play. The Falcons move into sole possession of third place in the WIAC standings.

In game one, the Falcons built an early lead to support six shutout innings from starter
Brett Sullivan in the win.
River Falls jumped ahead in the first on a sacrifice fly by
Andrew Athmann to bring home the game's first run.
Tanner Hraby singled in the second run in the third, and another run scored later in the inning on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to make it 3-0.
UWRF extended its lead in the seventh after the first two batters were retired. The Falcons mounted a two-out rally, scoring four runs on three hits, highlighted by
Carter Klein's two-RBI double, to push the advantage to 7-0.
Sullivan turned in the best outing of his career, striking out three while allowing just five baserunners over six shutout innings. He had not previously pitched beyond four innings.
Hraby finished with four hits in five at-bats, adding two RBIs and four runs scored in the game-one win.
UW-River Falls 8, UW-Oshkosh 4
A complete team performance led the Falcons to a game-two win, clinching the series against the Titans by taking three of four games.
Carter Klein opened the scoring in the third with a two-run home run to right-center.
UWRF added another run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by
Kaden Kokaisel.
The Falcons ran into trouble in the middle innings, walking in a run in the fourth and balking in another in the fifth. Oshkosh tied the game with a safety squeeze later in the inning.
River Falls regained control in the seventh, scoring five runs on just two hits. Hraby delivered a bases-loaded double to drive in three. The surge proved to be the difference.
UWRF's offense was efficient, scoring eight runs on five hits. Although Oshkosh recorded more hits, River Falls pitching stranded nine runners.
Cade Bruett started and threw five innings, allowing three runs.
Connor Ducklow,
Evan Senobe, and
Isaac Mens covered the final four innings, combining to allow just one unearned run. Senobe recorded the win, the first of his career.
Falcon baserunners were aggressive throughout the series, successfully stealing 15 of 17 bases. Catcher
Andrew Athmann threw out four Titan runners, increasing his WIAC-leading total to 18.
