DUBUQUE, Iowa — The UW-River Falls women's tennis team opened the 2026 fall season with a 4-3 victory over Loras College on Tuesday morning at Tucker Tennis Courts.
The Falcons earned the match win by claiming four of six singles contests after dropping the doubles point. UWRF secured victories at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to overcome the early deficit.
Loras took the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Brooke Lindeman and
Sydney Wiener provided the Falcons' lone doubles victory, earning a 7-6 win at the top position.
In singles play,
Sydney Wiener led the charge at No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-3 victory, while
Mykela Hanson was dominant at No. 3, posting a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Melina Lee added a straight-set 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles.
The decisive fourth team point came from
Jaimey Jessen-Olson at No. 6 singles, where she earned a hard-fought 7-6, 7-5 victory.
Up next, UWRF hosts Wartburg College and UW-Superior this Saturday, Sept. 5 at Ramer Tennis Courts.
