RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's tennis team fell 5-2 against Hamline University on Saturday afternoon inside Knowles Fieldhouse.

Hamline claimed the doubles point after winning two of three matches. Mykela Hanson and Makenna Sanders picked up a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles, while the Pipers earned matching 6-4 wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions.

The Falcons picked up a pair of singles victories from Sydney Wiener and Hanson. Wiener earned a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles, defeating Elanna Kohner 6-4, 6-4. Hanson added a win at No. 3, outlasting Emily Dreger in a tightly contested three-set match. After splitting the first two sets 6-4, 2-6, Hanson prevailed 11-9 in the match tiebreaker.

Hamline secured victories at the remaining four singles positions to close out the 5-2 win.

UWRF heads into WIAC play next Wednesday, Sept. 23, hosting UW-Stout
