Gillian McDonald returns to the Falcons as a sophomore goalie from New Brighton, Minn., where she played for Irondale High School. In 2013 she played in 16 games and had a 11-3-1 record. She had a 1.65 goals against average and a .912 saves percentage. She recorded three shutouts. She was named the UWRF Athletics Newcomer of the Year and was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. In high school she was named to the All-Conference team as a sophomore, junior and senior, and to the All-State team as a senior. She was a Final Five finalist for Minnesota Senior Goalie of the Year award. She was also named to the All-State Academic team as a junior and senior. Her senior year she had a goals against average of 1.27, with a save percentage of .933. McDonald has also been one of the top golfers for the Falcons in 2012 and 2013. She is the daughter of Mark and Nancy McDonald, she has two sisters and one brother, and she is majoring in physics and engineering.
