A native of St. Paul, Minn., Dan Stumpf enters his eighth season as the head women's tennis coach at UW-River Falls in 2022-23. Stumpf brings a wealth of tennis knowledge to the program as a former high school standout from Hill Murray High School (Maplewood, Minn.) and Division I player at Creighton University.
In his first two seasons at River Falls, Stumpf has brought stability to the program and has implemented a greater work ethic to his players. Going winless in the first season, Stumpf logged three wins for the Falcons in his second season.
Stumpf has spent the past decade as a strong leader of the Hill Murray High School boys tennis program and North Senior High School girls tennis program in addition to five years directing the youth indoor tennis program for the City of Oakdale, Minn. Both high school programs have established programs under Stumpf that compete well against both conference and section opponents.
As a player, Stumpf was a four-year letter winner and former top singles player at Hill Murray. Stumpf was a key player in winning their conference championship two of the four years he played. In addition to being a ranked player during his junior playing days, Stumpf anchored the No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles position for Creighton University during his tenure.
