Justin Brossman (Littleton, CO, Sioux City, USHL) scored the three-goal hat trick to help lead the Falcon men's hockey team to an 8-1 win at Concordia University on Saturday night in the team's first game of the season.
Josh Calleja (New Richmond, Wisconsin, MnJHL) also had a five-point night scoring once and assisting on four other Falcon goals. Brossman finished with a four-point game as he also had an assist. The Falcon special teams were in fine form finishing 4-7 on the power play. The Falcons killed off all seven power plays that Concordia had.
There was only one goal in the opening 20 minutes. Brossman scored with Calleja getting the assist at 17:51.
The Falcons added four goals in the second period to take a 5-0 lead after two. Brossman scored his second of the night with Calleja getting the only assist at 1:56. Calleja then netted his goal with the score coming short handed.
Martin Sundstedt (McKinney, TX, Topeka, NAHL) picked up the assist on the goal that came at 6:31. It was Sundstedt's first collegiate point. At 10:08
Ben Beaudoin (Inver Grove Heights, MN, Southern Minnesota, NAHL) scored the third goal of the period and the first power play goal for the Falcons. He was assisted by Calleja and Brossman. Beaudoin added a second power play goal exactly a minute later to give the Falcons a 5-0 lead after two.

Alec Hagaman (Peoria, IL, Topeka, NAHL) scored his first collegiate goal, unassisted. CU made it a 6-1 game at 6:04 when Michael Mulally scored.
But the Falcons added two more power play goals later. At 9:04 Brossman finished his hat trick with Calleja picking up his fourth assist. At 15:03
Andy Inderieden (Maple Grove, MN, Topeka, NAHL) finished the scoring with a power play goal.
John Bullis (Frisco, TX, Texas, NAHL) and
Eric McLintock (Traverse City, MI, Traverse City, NAHL) picked up the assists. It was McLintock's first collegiate point.
The Falcons had 15 shots on goal in the first and third periods and finished the game with a 41-16 advantage in shots on goal. Both teams had eight minor penalties.

Eric Babcook (Centennial, CO, Canmore, AJHL)started and played 50 minutes. He finished with 12 saves and allowed the one CU goal.
Scott Lewan (Westland, MI, Alberni Valley, BCHL) played the final 10 minutes and made three saves. CU goalies Michael Wyenn and Dustin Le Claire combined for 33 saves.
The Falcons open NCHA play on Friday when they host UW-Superior at Hunt Arena. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
