The Falcon tennis team lost an 8-1 match at Bethel University on Wednesday afternoon.

Amanda Drangeid (Bloomington MN, Jefferson) was the lone winner for the Falcons. Playing at No. 2, Drangeid came back after losing the first set to beat BU's Liswa Scheevel, 3-6, 6-0, 10-2. Drangeid is now 3-1 in singles play this year.

Jodi VanDeRiet (Stillwater, MN, Mounds View), playing at No. 5 singles, had a close match. She lost to Krista Nauman in the first set, 6-3, but came back for a 6-1 win in the second second. Nauman was able to get the win with a 10-8 win in the tie breaker third set.

The Falcons, now 1-3 overall, will open WIAC play on Friday. They play at UW-Stevens Point with the match starting at 3:30 p.m.
