The Falcon women's hockey team, undefeated and ranked No. 1 nationally, will host this weekend's
NCHA O'Brien Cup Playoffs at Hunt Arena this weekend.
Tthe Falcons play Concordia in the first semifinal game at 3:05 p.m., on Friday. In Friday's other semifinal, Adrian College plays UW-Superior at 7:05 p.m.
The Falcons enter the tourney with a 23-0-4 record and they finished 17-0-3 in NCHA play. The Falcons are the No. 1 seeded team and defeated St. Norbert last weekend in the first round of the playoffs. Concordia, seeded No. 5, advanced ot the semifinals for the first time in school history after winning a frist round series at Eau Claire, two games to one.
Adrian is the No. 2 seeded team and they advanced to this weekend's play beating Stevens Point twice and winning the series two games to none. Superior is the No. 3 seed and they had to work extra to beat Lake Forest, two games to one, last weekend in Superior.
The semifinal winners will play on Saturday at 2:05 p.m., for the championship. The winner of the NCHA playoff championship earns the league's NCAA automatic playoff berth into the Div. III championship series.
Tickets will be on sale at the Knowles Center lobby starting one hour before each game. Price is $8 for adults and $4 for students. Those age four and under will be admitted free.
