Women's Basketball Dominates Martin Luther 68-34

The women's basketball team rolled to a dominating 68-34 victory over Martin Luther College Tuesday night in their home opener at the Karges Center.

UWRF was led by Brittany Gregorich (Altoona, WI, Altoona) who tied her career-high with 18 points.  She has led UWRF is scoring for the first three games of the season.  She also had six rebounds and four assists, which also led the Falcons who are now 2-1 on the season.

Freshman Taylor Elton (Spring Grove, MN, Spring Grove) had her best game of the season, scoring eight points throughout the night. Brooke Lauritzen (Pulaski, WI, Pulaski) and Richell Mehus (Spring Grove, MN, Spring Grove) added six apiece.

UWRF was well-balanced as 12 different players recorded at least two points.

The Falcons were dominent from the beginning and never trailed throughout the game.  They would lead by as many as 35.

UWRF was also hot from the field, connecting on 24-55 for 43.6 percent.  MLC meanwhile shot 13-58 for 22.4 percent.  UWRF also held a 44-39 rebounding advantage.

With the win, the Falcons are now 7-0 all-time against Martin Luther. The Falcons will return to action on Monday, Nov. 26 as they take on the College of St. Benedict.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Karges Center.  The Falcons are 4-8 all-time against St. Ben's.
