Box Score Kait Mason scored a late game go ahead goal to give the Falcons a 4-2 win. Mason was an active part throughout the whole game finishing with six shots for one goal and also added an assist.
UWRF hosted Adrian College this afternoon for the second game in the weekend double header. With the win the Falcons move to 2-0 on the season and Adrian falls to 2-2.
Alyssa Jackson scored her first goal of the season to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead at 3:27 into the game. Jackson was assisted by Mason. Adrian answered back at 16:42 off the goal by Kristin Maton.
The teams continued the back and forth play that they played all weekend in the second period. It was the Falcons leading scorer from a year ago
Katie Batters striking first in the second period on a short-handed goal. The goal came at 5:03 into the period. With the minutes winding down at 18:33 Adrian's Danielle Smith scored on a power play goal to tie the game at 2-2.
Masons goal came at 12:43 into the third period and was assisted by
Leah Gefroh.
Chloe Kinsel added a power play goal at 19:40 to seal the victory.
UWRF had 44 shots on the game outshooting Adrian who had 17. Batters, Jackson, and Mason combined for 18 of those shots.
Freshman
Gillian McDonald made her first collegiate start at goalie recording 15 saves.
UWRF will continue play next weekend when they travel to NCHA opponent UW-Superior on Friday and Saturday. The puck is set to drop at 4 p.m. Friday.
