Box Score The UW-River Falls Falcon football team jumped out to a 14-0 lead at UW-La Crosse but fell 24-21 in the double overtime.
UWRF had a strong game running the ball with 62 total rushing attempts for 213 total rushing yards in the game. They did this with a whole collective group effort of rushers led by
Emmanuel Udeh who had 54 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts.
Robbie Flom recorded 10 attempts off of jet sweeps and wide receiver reverse plays for 52 total yards and a touchdown.
Ryan Kusilek added 46 yards and
Kywon Cartwright had 33 yards.
Jesse McKune and
Brad Beeskow both contributed as well. Besskow had his best receiving game of the season as well with a team high six grabs for 47 yards.
The first Falcon touchdown came halfway through the first quarter. UWRF got the ball on the three yard line after a bad snap on UWL's punt play. Udeh would plunge through for a three yard touchdown run out of the Maryland I-formation.
Hear WRFW's Ryan Tibbitts make the call. That would be the only score of the first half as both teams suffered from some special teams mistakes and had strong defensive performances.
UWRF came in with some defensive injuries but were led by strong performances by
Luke Radke who had ten tackles and
Nick Zimmerman with nine tackles.
Derrek Tarter recorded a sack in the game and Radke and
Albert Itula each had half a sack.
With 16 seconds left in the third quarter Kusilek found Beeskow for a 10 yard touchdown.

UWL scored with 6:55 left in the 4
th quarter off of a five yard touchdown run by Ben Hertrampf. Late in the game the Falcons were pinned down to their own one yard line but Kusilek connected with
Jake Ryan for a 51 yard pass play. A couple of plays later Udeh would fumble and UWL marched down to score with just 56 seconds left in the game.
UWRF would get the ball first in the overtime period. Chalres Dixon had a couple big receptions to keep the drive going on third downs. Flom finished the drive with a two yard touchdown run on a jet sweep.

UWL would then score on a play action pass to bring the game to a second overtime and get a field goal on their second possession. UWRF was forced to a 4
th and 15 play and choose to go for it. An incomplete pass ended the game and UWL moved their win streak to 3 and improve to 3-5 on the season.
UWRF falls to 0-8 and will be searching for their first win next Saturday for their final home game and Senior Day against UW-Stout with kickoff set for 1 p.m.Â
