The UW-River Falls women's hockey team shutout UW-Eau Claire 2-0 at Eau Claire tonight to improve to 3-3 overall on the season.

At 5:28 into the game Katie Batters netted a power play goal to give the Falcons the early lead. She was assisted by Chloe Kinsel and Dani Buehrer.  Batters scored the only goal of the period and now has four total goals on the season.  Batters also tied for the lead in shots for UWRF with five on goal. The Falcons had 36 total shots on goal compared to 24 by UWEC.

Neither team would score a goal in the second period. Kinsel found the back of the net late in the third period for her second goal of the season. Leah Gefroh and Jenna Ulberg both recorded assists on the play. Kinsel also had five shots on goal in the game. Hear WRFW's Chris Liermann make on the call.

Ashley Kuechle recorded the shutout in the game with 24 total saves.

The Falcons will play Eau Claire again tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. out at Hunt Arena.
