Box Score The Falcon women's basketball team lost in the fourth game of the season at Saint Benedict, 59-40, Saturday afternoon at Claire Lynch Hall in St. Joseph, Minn.
St. Benedict scored first, but the Falcons responded with a 2-point shot by
Kate Theisen tying the score 2-2, with 17:34 left to play. St. Benedict lead by 10 points with 10:19 in the first half. But the Falcons went on a 4-0 run to cut into the lead. St. Benedict led at the half 29-17.
The second half started with St. Benedict going on a 12-0 run during the first five minutes of play. They continued to lead the rest of the game by 18-25 points.
The Falcons had 11 steals and 32 rebounds.
Ali Clark led the Falcons in scoring with 12 points, which was a career high. She also had four rebounds.
Tess Lueders led the team in rebounds with four offensive rebounds, and two defensive. Overall UWRF shot 15-40 (.375) from the field, and 2-9 (.222) from behind the three point line. For free throws the Falcons went 8-13 (.615).
St. Benedict was lead in scoring by Annie Dittberner, who had 14 points. Mattie Lueck and Brianna Barrett also put up points for the team with 12 and 10 respectively.
UWRF, 0-4 overall, will return to action on Tuesday at 7 p.m., for their first home game of the season. The Falcons host Bethel University.
