Box Score Nine different Falcons scored goals in the UW-River Falls women's hockey team's dominating 9-3 at the University of St. Thomas this afternoon.
Katie Batters scored a goal and three assists in the game tying for second most points in a game in Falcons history.
St. Thomas jumped out to a two goal lead just 2:46 into the game but the Falcons responded with seven straight goals.
UWRF scored four first period goals, added two in the second and scored three more in the third period.
First period goals were scored by
Alice Cranston,
Hayley Walsh who scored her first collegiate goal,
Brianna Breiland also added her first collegiate goal and
Leah Gefroh.
Freshman
Karleigh Wolkerstorfer and
Kayla Sinna both scored the second period goals.
 Batters, Kait Mason, and Chloe Kinsel all found the back of the net in the third period.Â
"We got off to a slow start," said Falcon Coach
Joe Cranston. "We finished with a great offensive effort but we are still struggling defensively."
UWRF had 24 total shots on goal and St. Thomas had 23 attempted on net.
Ashley Kuechle played goalie for UWRF and recorded 20 saves in the game.
In just three games this season UWRF now have 17 total goals.
They will play again next weekend in a series against UW-Stevens Point for their first WIAC conference action. The first game will be Friday night with the puck set to drop at 7 p.m.Â
