Women's Hockey Tops Marian University, 7-2

Batters Records Third Straight Two Goal Game

The #6 ranked UW-River Falls Falcons won their six straight game late this afternoon over the Marian University Sabres at the Blue Line Family Ice Center located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Katie Batters led the way with her third straight two goal game. She has scored at least one goal in all six games during the Falcons current win streak and has 15 total goals on the season. She also led the team with ten shots on goal in the game.

Amanda Reimann scored the first goal of the game at 15:50 of the first period. This would be the only goal of the first period despite River Falls controlling the puck most of the way. UWRF had 25 shots on goal compared to five by MU.

Batters tied the game at 3:14 into the second period off of the Lauren Schweppe assist. This was Schweppe's second assist of the season.

Crysta Lowell scored on the games only power play goal at 7:45 of the second period for her seventh goal of the season. She was assisted Alyssa Jackson on the play who now has eight assists on the season.

Marian tied the game at 8:40 of the second period. Goalie Gillian McDonald would not allow another goal in the game and recorded her seventh win of the season in net. She had 14 saves in the game.

Chloe Kinsel and Brook Story each scored second period goals as well to give the Falcons four total
second period goals and a two goal lead going into the third.

UWRF continued to control the game with 27 shots on goal in the second period. Marian recorded seven shots on goal in the period.

The Falcons would score three goals early on in the third period to seal the victory. The goals were scored by Amanda Ryder, Batters, and Kait Mason. UWRF would finish the game with 70 total shots on goal.

Marian goalie Ali Glazer recorded 63 saves in the game.

UWRF moves to 13-4-2 overall on the season and 11-2-2 in NCHA conference play. The win will keep them in first place in the conference. Marian drops to 3-14-2 on the season and 2-10-2 in NCHA play.

The Falcons look to continue their win streak when they play at Marian tomorrow afternoon with the puck set to drop at 12:00 p.m.
