Box Score After falling 2-0 in the first period the #5 UW-River Falcons came back to win 5-3 over the College of St. Scholastica Saints.
The Saints scored at 13:44 and 13:58 of the first period to give themselves the two goal lead. UWRF did not score a first period goal despite out shooting the Saints 17-7 in the period.
CSSW goalie Teraysa White did not allow a goal in the first period and stopped 47 Falcon shots in the game.
Alice Cranston went all the way in front of net and scored an unassisted goal at 3:20 of the second period. The goal came with the Falcons shorthanded on the play.
At 11:49 into the second period
Leah Gefroh tied the game up with her sixth goal of the season. She was assisted by
Sam Greeley who recorded her sixth assist of the season on the play.
The Falcons quickly broke the tie at the start of the third period when
Kait Mason scored a power play goal for her 12
th goal of the season. The goal came only fifteen seconds into the third period. Overall in the game UWRF went 1-3 on power play opportunities and CSSW went 0-3 on their chances.
CSSW was able to tie the game at 2:37 into the third period.
Gillian McDonald would not allow another goal and finished the game with 11 total saves.
The Falcons took the lead back at 6:54 of the third period when
Chloe Kinsel scored off the
Kendal Evenson and
Alyssa Jackson assists. Kinsel now has fifteen goals on the season.
The final goal of the game was scored when
Katie Batters sniped one in for her seventh goal of the season at 14:36.
UWRF moves to 15-4-2 overall on the season with a 13-2-2 NCHA record.
These two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon out at Hunt Arena with the puck set to drop at 2:05 p.m.
