Box Score The UW-River Falls volleyball team opened up WIAC play this evening at Superior with a 3-0 victory.
All three sets were competitive with the largest margin of victory coming in the third set for UWRF with a five point win. The set scores were 25-23, 25-22, and 25-20.
The Falcons had a balanced attack on offense with their 38 team kills being spread out.
Brianna Muetzel had nine,
Rebecca Gasper with eight,
Lisa Keppers had seven,
Hali Tasler added six and
Jean Theis had five. Keppers hit a .400 in the match. UWRF hit a .207 overall as a team.
Alyssa Anderson had half of the teams set assists with 17.
The UWRF defense held UWS to a .108 and had 46 digs in the match.
Lexi Pingel had 12 digs which tied for a match high, Anderson had 11 digs and Muetzel and Tasler each added seven digs.
After the match UWRF now moves to 10-4 and UWS falls to 10-4 on the season. They will play again Friday in their first home match of the season against UW-Stevens Point with the match set to start at 7 p.m.Â
