Box Score The UW-River Fall Falcons won their third straight game and recorded their fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory at Concordia-Moorhead College this evening.
Ashley Kuechle has started in net in all four of the shut outs for UWRF this season. She recorded 16 saves in her seventh win of the season tonight.
Dani Sibley scored a first period goal for her sixth of the season at 7:05 off of an assist from
Paige Johnson who now has eight assists this season.
Neither team scored in the second period. Madison Denny played in net for CMC and recorded 23 saves.
UWRF wasted no time scoring in the third period when the senior connection of
Katie Batters and
Brook Story produced a goal just 1:06 in. Batters leads all Falcon scorers this year with 11 goals and has 18 total points. Story has eight assists this season and is the second leading scorer with 14 points.
Johnson found the back of the net for the last goal of the game at 8:54 of the third period. She was unassisted on the score.
UWRF took 26 shots on goal compared to sixteen for CMC and only had one penalty all game. Concordia had six penalties but the Falcons failed to take advantage on a single power play opportunity.
The win moves UWRF to 9-3-2 on the season and drops CMC to 2-7-3 this season. The two teams meet again tomorrow with the puck set to drop at 11 a.m.Â
