Box Score The UWRF women's basketball team fell to UW-Stout, 66-57, Wednesday night at the Karges Center in a low scoring defensive WIAC battle.
Senior
Tess Lueders led the Falcons in scoring with 10 points - she scored five in each half. Lueders helped close Stout's lead in the second half when she made both of her free throws with 10:07 left to play, pulling the Falcons to within 41-40. She added five steals in the game, which matches her career high from a season ago in a game also against Stout.
Stout was able to carry the lead for the majority of the game. The second half they kept the lead in the single digits until 1:41 left to play when Tara Matter made a layup and increased their lead by 11, 62-51. UWRF's
Hailey Siegle responded with two free throws, however Stout was able to hold the lead for the rest of the game.
UWRF's
Katie Messman and Siegle both put up nine points. Overall the Falcons went 18-48 (.375) from the field, but just 1-15 (.067) from behind the arc. Overall they shot 20-35 (.571) from the line, and had 36 rebounds.
Stout was led in scoring by Sami Schoeder who put up 20 points, and had two steals. Brea Boomer also scored in double figures with 16.
The Falcons are now 4-14 overall and 3-7 in WIAC play. They return to the court Saturday in River Falls hosting UW-Oshkosh at the Karges Center with the tip off set for 3 p.m.
