The Falcon men's swimming & diving team competed in the second day of the WIAC Meet on Friday in Brown Deer, Wis.
David Zaske had the team's highest finish so far in the championships. He placed 10th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.71. That was his best time of the year. UWRF had two place winners in the 100 backstroke event.
Andrew Keller placed 12th in 54.1 and
Dennis Dadashev finished 14th in a season-best time of 58.31. In three-meter diving
Stefan Heyn placed 12th with 256.7 points.
The 800 free relay team finished sixth with a time of 8:39.2. Members of the team were
Lucas Hetzel,
Peter Brudzinski,
Aaron Sova and
Mike Schuenke. In the 200 medley relay the Falcons had a season best time of 1:38.54 and placed sixth. Members of that team were Keller, Zaske, Dadashev and David Voller.
At the start of the finals tonight Brudzinski was named to the 2014 WIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
The Falcons are in sixth place in the team standings with 130 points. Stevens Point is in first place with 549 points.
The Falcons will compete in the third, and final, day of the championships on Saturday.
