Box Score STEVENS POINT, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) - The UW – River Falls football team wrapped up their season against UW – Stevens Point and fell to the Pointers on the road 44-0 to finish 4-6 on the season.
UW – Stevens Point (5-5, 3-4 WIAC) scored 24 points in the first quarter, and the Falcons never got their feet under themselves offensively.
Freshman
Ben Beckman started his second straight game for the Falcons on offense, and finished the day with five completions on 14 attempts.
Johnny Kind led the Falcons passing with 56 yards on three of six attempts. Senior
Ryan Kusilek got a chance to wrap up his career on the field after being sidelined for the past two weeks with a sprained ankle. Kusilek came in from the end of the third quarter on, and competed nine of 17 attempts on the night with one interception. He was sacked five times during his time in the game.
Michael Diggins ran for 58 yards on 11 attempts.
Rance Ashley added 19 yards on five carries.
Senior wide receiver
Matt Woller grabbed eight balls on the day for 95 yards, which included a 28 yard snag in the first half.
Nicholas Studer also added 19 yards on three catches.
Defensively, safety
Matt Ekman led in tackles with 13 on the day. Linebacker Geno Demike had 10 tackles and a forced fumble.
Kyle Semann had three and a half tackles for a loss on the day along with two forced fumbles. Senior
Derrek Tarter had a sack in his final contest with five total tackles.
The Falcons finished the season with four wins, the most they have had since 2001 when they finished 4-5 over. They finished tied for fourth in the WIAC standings with a 3-4 conference record.
