Box Score 2 The Falcon softball team lost a WIAC double header to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon at Ramer Field.
UWO took the first game, 4-1, and the night cap, 3-2.

Faye Perkins was honored for her 22 years of coaching at UWRF. She will retire from coaching at the end of the 2015 season.Â
The Falcons, now 16-16 overall and 3-7 in WIAC play, will next host UW-Stevens Point on Monday with the first pitch set for 3 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday, but a rainy forecast forced the delay.
Oshkosh 4, River Falls 1Â
The Falcons battled back and forth with the Titans in the first three innings. The game was still scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when UWRF's
Katie Thompson slammed a home run to center field. It was her eighth homer of the season.
That lone home run was the only offense the Falcons could muster in the first game.
The Titans scored at least one run in each of the last three innings led by Elizabeth Fonk who was 2-4 on the day with an RBI single in the top of the seventh that put the game away.
Pitching on the day was solid on both sides. UWRF's
Brooke Lauritzen started the game and pitched four scoreless innings. In the fifth inning she allowed her first run. She did take the loss in this game moving to 7-7 on the season. Lauritzen tallied three strikeouts and walked three batters, she allowed two runs.Â
Abbie Morris also made an appearance on the mound and pitched 1.1 innings and allowed two hits and two runs.
For Oshkosh, Sara Brunlieb got her 13
th win on the season, pitching a complete game with only four hits allowed and three strikeouts.Â
Oshkosh 3, River Falls 2The Falcons again drew first blood, in the second inning.
Sarah Sorensen knocked a single to right center and drove in Lauritzen to give UWRF a 1-0 lead.
Oshkosh responded with three runs in the top of the third. Starting pitcher
Michelle LaCasse walked two runners, LaCasse then let a pitch hang in the strike zone against Hayden Krueger of Oshkosh as she smashed a three run home run to right center field giving the Titans a 3-1 lead.
The Falcons got two hits in the bottom of the third and closed the gap with an RBI by
Kaitlyn LePine that drove in
Aiyana Ledwein and got the score to 3-2 with four innings to play.
Morris replaced LaCasse and pitched five scoreless innings and allowed four hits and walked just one.
The Falcon offense was shut down by opposing pitchers Clare Robbe and Brunlieb who held the Falcons to just two runs on seven hits. The Falcons left eight runners on base.
LaCasse took the loss and moved to 1-1 on the season. Brunlieb notched the win and moved to 14-3 on the year.Â
