Box Score 2 MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – Despite the hard loss earlier this week the Falcons came back fighting this weekend at the Augsburg Triangle. Falling to a loss in both matches the Falcons still battled with their heads held high.
Coming out strong the Falcons (7-11) won the first set of the match against Carleton College (8-5), 25-22 with
Tayler Fertig and
Rebecca Gasper on the offensive with 9 kills,
Brianna Muetzel following close with 8. Defensively,
Lexi Pingel led the team with 27 digs,
Raven Klein with 19.
Carleton surpassed the Falcons winning the second, third and fourth sets, 27-25, 25-18, 25-22.
Raven Klein led the team offensively with 33 assists. Defensively speaking
Rebecca Gasper held the high with 9 blocks.
The Falcons fought hard in their second match against Augsburg College (12-4), but did not quite make it as they lost all three sets, 25-14, 25-17, 25-23. Gasper led the Falcons with a weekend high of 14 kills,
Lisa Keppers cutting that in half with 7. Klein ended the match with 29 assists helping the Falcons continue their fight. Defensively
Brianna Muetzel led with 13 digs, flanked by
Michaela Piechowski and
Lexi Pingel with 12.
The Falcons return to the court on Wednesday, September 30 at UW-Eau Claire at 7 p.m.
