RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – In one of the toughest tests of the young season, the 2
nd ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team came from behind in stunning fashion to beat Hamline 3-2 at Hunt Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hamline opened up the scoring at 12:52 in the first period with a shot by Brede Postier's third goal of the season. She was assisted by Jena Kosley. This being just the second time the Falcons were down this season.
- UW-River Falls fired 10 shots on goal against Hamline, but goalie Annie Juergens stopped all 10 and kept the Pipers in the lead after the first period.
- Senior Dani Sibley would tie the game up for UWRF at 3:11 in the second period. After the Falcons were called for a hooking penalty, they were shorthanded. Sibley won a faceoff and UWRF would score their fourth shorthanded goal in just five games. The goal was assisted by Lydia Wagner.
- In her first start as goalie, Tatyana Delaittre stopped six shots in the second period to keep the Pipers out of the net. The Falcons would enter the third period tied 1-1 with Hamline.
- Hamline would beat Delaittre at 1:40 in the third period to take the lead on a power play goal by Sadie Baker. She was unassisted on the goal.
- The Falcons would smack 14 shots on goal in the third period to the Pipers two, but the Falcons still found themselves down 2-1 with under two minutes to go.
- UWRF would control the puck late in the game, and would six straight shots before Carly Moran finally beat the Hamline goalie to tie the game up with just 1:39 left in the game. The goal was assisted by Paige Johnson and Sibley.
- Just 24 seconds later, the Falcons would score again and take their first lead of the game. Dani Kocina beat Juergens in a crazy series of events and the Falcons found themselves up with 1:15 left to go in the game. Katie Stark was credited for the assist on the goal.
- Hamline would be called for a penalty before the Falcons claimed the 3-2 comeback victory to move to 5-0, their best start since 2011 when UWRF started 7-0 before their first loss.
- Johnson finished with the team-high six shots. Sibley had five shots on the night, Amy Auran also fired five shots in the game.
- UWRF would win 19 of the 28 face offs in the game, led by Hailey Herdine winning 7 of her 11 face offs in the game.
- Delaittre would save eight shots on the night to earn her first victory as a Falcon. She played 59 minutes and 52 seconds.
THE OPPOSITION
- Postier had two shots on goal for Hamline. Former Falcon Taylor Ramthun also fired two shots on goal for the Pipers.
- Postier had the most successful night in face offs for Hamline. She won six of her 11 face offs in the game.
- Juergens saved 33 shots in the game. 10 in the first, 12 in the second, and 11 in the third to keep her team in the lead for over 90 percent of the game. She played all 60 minutes in net for the Pipers.

UW-River Falls will now bring their focus back to the WIAC. The Falcons will travel to Eau Claire to take on the Blugolds on November 19
th at 7 p.m. They then will return home to take on St. Olaf at Hunt Arena on November 22
nd at 7:05 p.m.
